The hotel is easily accessible and walking distance (15 minutes) to the Schenectady Amtrak station ($10-20 dollars with Lyft $20-50 with Uber), and provides free parking and valet service. Some rooms overlooking the river have balconies. The hotel is located right on the Mohawk River which is a plus as it provides a lovely view if you are fortunate enough to get a room with a river view. The location was selected by a third party, so I did not know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. The Landing is a great place for a weekend getaway. I find it odd a 4 star hotel advertising dining does not mention this on their website !… They told me to drive somewhere but i arriving by plane and had no car! Finally after some discussions one woman at the front desk offered to go make an order for me but this was really on her own personal choice it was not a hotel policy and others who worked there told me it was not possible. I asked the front desk how am I supposed to feed my kids! They are under 2 years I can’t leave them alone to make an order. I arrived at 6pm and my kids were hungry for dinner after an afternoon of traveling.

The only way to order food was to physically go into the restaurant and make a takeout order which I could not do as I was alone with two children. Even for breakfast! The hotel offered no room service and you couldn’t even do a call-in takeout order because the restaurants don’t have a phone. But the main problem was I was traveling alone with 2 children to a wedding, and children are not allowed in the restaurants because the restaurants are in the casino. Overall this was a standard 4 star hotel, clean and well maintained.
